What Our Clients Are Saying

It’s a pleasure to be able to tell you how much I appreciate “Helping Hands.” My husband and I have always done most of the housework ourselves, but now, in our 89th year, it has become more and more difficult. Irene, you sent us a lovely caregiver. Carol has done everything I’ve asked of her and we feel so much better when our house is clean and we’re not exhausted. She calls if she’s going to be late or needs to change a date. She’s a treasure. Your service is invaluable, not only to us seniors, but to people who are recovering from surgery or a serious illness.

Helping Hands Chore Service really came to my rescue when I was no longer able to do my own grocery shopping. It’s always been difficult for me to ask anyone for assistance because I feel like I’m being a burden. Sommer, my caregiver, is great. She’s so efficient and I completely trust her judgment. She’s always cheerful when she performs her tasks and is a pleasure to work with. My worries about how I was going to do my shopping are a thing of the past, thank goodness. I now have peace of mind again. Thanks so much Helping Hands!

Thank you so much for the difference you have made in my life. I am a relatively-active 60-ish lady and there are some housekeeping things I can’t do, like vacuum, lifting, chopping vegetables. Last year was a hard year for me and I was not well. That’s when someone mentioned HH’s to me. My helper and I are well-matched and I look forward to her visits. We accomplish 4X what I could do myself. Karen has the sweetest personality and we have fun. Having my home well-maintained helped my outlook. It also frees me up to focus on the work God has given me to do at this stage of my life with a refreshed attitude. God bless you all!

My mom has been a Helping Hands client for several years and her health has been in steady decline. Your helpful and compassionate caregivers have been a Godsent to us, as it has enabled her to stay in her home and maintain her independence with dignity. She looks forward to Toni’s visits every week and knows she’ll get the help and companionship she needs. For this, we are both very grateful and you have our heartfelt thanks.

In 2011, my wife Barbara passed away and I needed help in maintaining my home. I was nervous and concerned about someone entering and working in my home. I contacted Irene Connole who came to visit me. She made me comfortable at her first visit telling me of the service I could expect from the Chore Service. I have a worker, Dawn, who makes a visit to my home weekly. I have trouble getting about and not able to do some things I want to do. My caregiver always has a smile on her face, good energy and knows what to do. We often have bits of conversation on the good things of Winsted. I look forward to her visits and the good work she gets accomplished for me. I am more than satisfied! Thank you Chore Service. You offer me the opportunity to stay in my home which I cherish.

Thank you, Helping Hands, for giving me the help I need. Being in the hospital for four months without coming home once was very depressing. When I came home I was in a wheel chair and had to use a walker. I want to thank you, Irene, for sending me a helpful caregiver. Heather is very nice and I’m comfortable talking to her. I don’t have much strength in my arms anymore, so I just can’t lift anything heavy. So thank you, Helping Hands, for your support!
