Helping Hands provides high-quality, cost-effective homemaker, companion and personal care services to help local seniors maintain lifestyles of dignity and independence.
Many clients are on fixed incomes, living alone, or with limited family support. They seek assistance to help cope with life’s everyday activities.
That’s when Helping Hands can be an invaluable resource.
To start the enrollment process, our Director meets with prospective clients to assess their needs and matches them with compatible caregivers. Our clients maintain control of their schedule, as well as the type of services they receive. All the services are provided on an hourly basis.
Clients are given an opportunity to donate toward the costs for the services received.

How to Become a Client
Do you need extra help at home? Do you have a loved one who could benefit from our chore services?
If yes, please call our office to learn more about client eligibility and the enrollment process. We will respond to your inquiry within 24 hours. Clients must be age 60 or over and reside in our service area of Barkhamsted, Colebrook, New Hartford, Norfolk or Winsted/Winchester.
